That belief sits at the heart of Cawing Crow Press. Founded by writer and publisher Craig Grossman, the press brings a writer’s perspective to the journey from manuscript to finished book.

Craig holds a BA in English with an emphasis in creative writing, an MA in writing popular fiction in the mystery genre, and an MFA in writing popular fiction in the horror genre. He has also taught college English.

Does it cost anything to submit?

No. There is no submission fee and no publishing fee for accepted manuscripts. You do not need to purchase a course or join a mailing list to be considered.

Is every manuscript accepted?

No. Cawing Crow Press is selective. Submitting a manuscript does not guarantee acceptance, publication, or a particular sales result.

What marketing education do accepted authors receive?

If your book is accepted for publication, you will enter the one-year Book Marketing Track for Authors offered by Writer’s University at no charge to you. Details will be included in your acceptance letter and publishing contract.

What are the royalties?

The current offer is 50% royalties. The publishing agreement will set out the calculation basis, covered sales, and payment terms for you to review before signing.

What should I prepare?

Have your manuscript, a synopsis, genre, approximate word count, and a short author introduction ready. Choose the Fiction, Poetry, or Non-Fiction form in our submissions section and follow its instructions.
